How to Create a Strong Password

Creating a strong password is easier than you think. Follow this guide and you'll have unbreakable passwords in minutes.

Step 1: Use a Password Generator

The easiest way to create a strong password is to use a random password generator like RndPass. Human brains are bad at creating truly random sequences - computers are much better.

Example:

  • Bad (human-made): Password123!
  • Good (generated): X9#mK2$pQw8@nL5j

Step 2: Set at Least 12 Characters

Length is critical. A 12-character password with a mix of character types takes billions of years to crack with brute force. 16+ characters is even better for sensitive accounts.

Step 3: Include All Character Types

Combine uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. This dramatically increases the number of possible combinations, making the password exponentially harder to guess.

Step 4: Make Each Password Unique

Never use the same password for multiple accounts. If one account is compromised, all accounts with the same password are at risk. A password manager will help you manage unique passwords.

Step 5: Store Securely

Use a reputable password manager to store passwords. NEVER: write passwords on paper, store in unencrypted files, or share via email/text.
